It started quietly.
With a stack of Vogue magazines tucked beneath my bed
and a love affair with my grandmother’s closet.
She never called it style.
She never called it anything at all.
But everything she wore felt considered—
soft knits, tailored coats, pieces that moved with her life instead of competing with it.
There was a quiet confidence in it.
An ease.
I didn’t know it then, but it was my first glimpse into the quiet, understated way of living that would later define me.
I was raised in a small town in Minnesota,
where winters were long,
life moved slower,
and simplicity wasn’t something you aspired to—
it was just how things were.
I grew up near the water—lakes in the summer, stillness in the winter—
and that quiet sense of calm never really left me.There was beauty in that.

In layers.
In texture.
In learning how to create warmth, not just physically, but emotionally.
Even my grandfather’s trench coat—structured, timeless, worn year after year—
carried its own quiet story.
Things weren’t disposable.
They were chosen.
They lasted.
And somewhere along the way, that stayed with me.
Later, life sped up.
Los Angeles.
Storytelling.
A chapter filled with movement, ambition, and reinvention.
And then, another shift—
into the corporate world,
into structure,
into building, leading, achieving.
From the outside, it made sense.
But internally, something began to feel louder than it should.
Faster than it needed to be.
It wasn’t until I had my children
that everything softened again.
Or maybe clarified.
Because suddenly, I wasn’t interested in more.
I was interested in better.
More intention.
More calm.
More presence.
I found myself craving the feeling I had known early on—
that quiet, grounded, understated way of living.
SoCal Scandi was born out of that return.
A blending of two worlds that shaped me:
The calm, minimal, deeply rooted sensibility of my Scandinavian upbringing
and the light, warmth, and ease of Southern California that I had called home now for so long.
To me, style is no longer about trends.
It’s about what feels like you
before you say a word.
It’s the dress you didn’t save for a special occasion.
The denim that fits just right.
The sweater that carries the memory of small hands wrapped around you.
It’s the pieces you reach for without thinking—
because they’ve already become part of your story.
This space is an extension of that.
A place for slowing down your everyday.
For choosing fewer things, but better ones.
For creating a life that feels as calm as it looks.
From what you wear
to how you live
to the rituals you return to.
And always, there’s water.
I grew up with lake shores and sand between my toes,
and now I live with the ocean just a mile away.
That quiet, grounding presence has always been part of me—
and it flows through everything I create here.
This is SoCal Scandi.
Not just how it looks—
but how it feels to live inside it.
Grounded, considered, and quietly held—
like the places I’ve come from,
and the water I’ve always found my way back to.
